Mission Statement
Stichting Vluchteling supports refugees and internally displaced persons (IDP’s) who have fled racial, religious and ethnic persecution as well as those uprooted by war and violence. Rendering humanitarian assistance to refugees and IDP’s in developing countries is our main goal. Here in the Netherlands, we strive for a greater understanding of critical issues affecting refugees around the world coupled with generating broader public support. Stichting Vluchteling works in cooperation with other national and international refugee organizations to achieve it’s goals. Our organization lobbies authorities and Members of Parliament to adhere to and show respect for refugee rights as they have been laid down in the 1951 Refugee Convention, the 1969 AOU Refugee Convention and the Guiding Principles on Internal Displacement.
